Bittleston, Sir Adam, Knt, judge at Madras 1858-70, knighted 28 April, 1858, went the Midland circuit, a student of the Inner Temple 8 Nov., 1837 (then aged 20), called to the bar 19 Nov., 1841 (eldest son of Thomas Bittleston, of London, gentleman); born 12 Sept., 1817; married 31 Aug., 1844, Rebecca Ann, eldest dau. of George Hastings Heppel, Esq., and has issue (see Foster's Baronetage).
