Broughton, Lewis Price Delves, B.A., Trin. Hall, Camb., 1857, administrator-general Bengal since 1878, acting puisne judge supreme court at Calcutta 1878–9, 1881–2, formerly recorder of Rangoon, author of Indian Civil Procedure, Indian Magistrates' Guide, and Limitation of Suits in India, a student of Lincoln's Inn 19 May, 1857 (then aged 21), called to the bar 30 April, 1860 (2nd son of Rev. Thomas Delves Broughton, of Bletchley, Bucks); born 10 May, 1836; married 26 Dec., 1867, Mary Elizabeth Randall, eldest dau. of Major-Genl. Frank Turner, C.B., royal (Bengal) artillery, and has issue (see Foster's Baronetage).
