Garrod, Herbert Baring, M.A., Merton Coll., Oxon, 1880, B.A. honours 1872, Newdigate prizeman 1869, senior classical postmaster Merton Coll., Oxon, 1868, a member of the South-eastern circuit, a student of the Inner Temple 16 Nov., 1870 (then aged 21), called to the bar 6 June, 1874 (elder surviving son of Alfred Baring Garrod, of London, M.D., F.R.S.); born 22 May, 1849; married 22 July, 1884, Lucy Florence, 4th dau. of William Colchester, Esq., of Springfield, Ipswich.
