THOMAS FERRIS, Esq.

Was made a lieutenant into the Centaur 74, bearing the flag of Sir Samuel Hood, Oct. 19th, 1807. He subsequently served under Captains Pulteney Malcolm, Sir Michael Seymour, and Joseph James, in the Donegal 74, Hannibal 74, and Tanais frig&te; obtained his present rank on the 20th Sept. 1815; and was appointed an inspecting-commander on the coast-guard service, July 6th, 1830.
