CHARLES GORDON (b), Esq.
[Captain of 1828.]

Was made a lieutenant in July, 1818; appointed to the Tagus 42, Captain ;. W. Deans Dundas, on the 11th of the following month; to the Active 46, Captain Sir James A. Gordon, Jan. 12th, 1819; to the Ariadne 26, Captain C. R. Moorsom, Mar. 29th, 1822; and to the command of the Cadmus sloop, on the South American station, April 17th 1827. His first commission as commander bears date Jan. 6th, 1826; and he obtained his present rank, April 17th, 1828.
