THOMAS LIPSON, Esq.
[Commander.]

Was made a lieutenant in June 1809; and commander on the 4th March 1819. In Jan. 1817, the Lapwing revenue cutter, then under his command, was driven from her anchorage in Mill Bay, Plymouth, and went ashore high and dry ​over a ridge of rocks, with comparatively but little damage.[1] He married, July 30th, 1812, Elizabeth, daughter of Mr. William Took, of Weymouth.
