Grandas de Salime

Grandas de Salime (short: Grandas) is a village in Asturias, Spain. It has 370 inhabitants (2023) and lies on the Original Way of St. James (Camino Primitivo).

Coming from Oviedo on the Camino Primitivo, Grandas has albergues (hostels), an ATM and grocery stores.

Get in

ALSA stops here coming from Tineo.

From the Asturias airport it's usually the best to take a non-stop ALSA bus to Oviedo, then an ALSA bus to Tineo and then an ALSA bus to Grandas.

There is also an ALSA bus to the north coast stopping in Navia and in other places on the way.

It can be easily explored on foot.

Sleep

Pilgrims can sleep in all of the albergues. Some of them are open all year round. There is also a hotel with shared rooms at the reservoir. (updated January 2025)
